Saturday, April 24 was the Ontario Power Generation sponsored “Take Pride in Pickering Day” tree planting event in Alex Robertson Park. In a few short hours, close to 250 volunteers were able to plant approximately 650 trees and shrubs along the park’s naturalization area and wildlife corridor.

Thanks to a successful partnership between Ontario Power Generation, Toronto Region Conservation Authority, City of Pickering, Environmental Stewardship Pickering, along with other community groups and volunteers more than 7,000 plantings have been made in the park.
